Not Your Average WAG!

Theo Walcott’s girlfriend Melanie Slade is not your average WAG. Not only does she have three A-levels but she has refused to drive the £150,000 Ferrari California Theo Walcott bought for her 21st birthday and is still using her Beetle instead.

Recently, Melanie Slade proves even further how she is not your average WAG as she has just completed designs for a charity T-shirt in aid of Cancer Research.

The pretty vest top, has a pink floral motif and is one of a series of three, the others designed by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips and fashion designer Tracey Boyd.

Arsenal Star, Theo Walcott and girlfriend Melanie Slade first met outside the shop where Mel worked at West Quay shopping mall in Southampton.

One of the couple’s first public appearances was at the launch of the Waltet Materials and RFSF Recycling commercial waste recycling centre in Hampshire.

Due to Theo Walcott being a surprise selection for the England 2006 FIFA World Cup Melanie Slade was thrust under the UK spotlight, and quickly became a tabloid newspaper favourite.
In May 2006, UK Tabloid newspaper ‘The Sun’ offered Ms. Slade £160,000 for a topless photo shoot!

Mel accepted the offer and actually appeared topless in The Sun on 19 May 2006, although she did tastefully cover her breasts with her hands!

Theo revealed that when he wants to annoy Melanie, he calls her ‘Waggy’.
