Get Ready For Summer

Throw those winter blacks and greys overboard and get ready to welcome Summer 2010.

This summer is all about two looks; the sailor inspired, nautical look and a lacy, beaded ethnic look.

Navys and whites, golds and pin stripped, crochet and broderie anglais, which ever look tickles your fancy, don’t leave it too late, because Summer is almost here.

If you can’t quite make up your mind between them then look out for garments that blend the two looks – striped t-shirts with embellished shoulders; sharp tailored culottes with lacy blouson tops; and playsuits that mix tailoring with soft, whimsical fabrics.

Quirky floral blazers tick all the summer style boxes, as would a Breton-striped top with jewel-encrusted shoulder detail.

Leggings are still making a fashion statement, as are killer heels and pixie boots. But the must-have shoes this summer are definitely a pair of ‘bandaged’ shoes or sandals with a wraparound cuff at the ankle.

Denim dresses and shirts are making a big statement and layered ruffles are everywhere – on shirts, dresses, jackets and even denim.

This summer also sees the return of the waistline as the smock top recedes and more fitted lines with waist detail start to emerge once again.
