Cheryl Cole – Moving On
Posted in News on 26. May, 2010
Headline act Cheryl Cole stole the show at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend as she played to thousands of people in blazing heat.
Opening with Fight For This Love, she looked like she was fully recovered from any romance problems with love-rat ex Ashley Cole and appeared thrilled to be on stage.
Wearing an army-style jacket, silver shorts and Michael Jackson-style shades, she said: “It’s so nice to go back.”
Launching into Three Little Words, she danced a smoochy one-to-one flamenco-style number with one of her male dancers and ended her set with Parachute.
Around 20,000 festival-goers soaked up the “incredible heat” – when Florence And The Machine and Dizzee Rascal topped the bill.
In rough-cut denim shorts, Ellie Goulding told us the crowd was “awesome” and was loving her first trip to Bangor.
And Scouting For Girls were also thrilled to be there.
Singer Roy Stride told us: “When we found out the Big Weekend was coming to Bangor we phoned our plugger to get us on the list because we have such good memories of North Wales.
The atmosphere in the crowd was buzzing with loads of fans unable to believe so many big names were in Bangor.
Michael Jones, from Caernarfon, said of X Factor’s Cheryl: “She’s stunning. I can’t believe I have seen her in the flesh. She sounds amazing and looks better.
“This is the best festival I’ve ever been to.”
