WAG and Television host, Christine Bleakley, raised over £250,000 for charity as she water skied across the English Channel.
Afterwards Bleakley, who has a fear of water, encountered swell and waves of up to 8ft, and fell in a total of 8 times, described the trip as “utter torture”.
“Halfway through, I thought ‘I can’t do this’ because everything was starting to give,” she said. “I had searing pain in my lower back, my legs were starting to wobble, and my hands – I just couldn’t hold on any longer. But I managed to get the strength from somewhere and I can’t quite believe I’ve done it.”
“It’s scary when you’re out there and you see 8ft waves alongside you, and the swell that stops your view even from the boat in front of you. And there’s a huge amount of waves created off the back of the huge ships that go across the Channel too,” she said.
“So it was just incredible – it’s very difficult to put into words.”
Her sense of achievement was magnified by overcoming her fear of water after a bad experience as a child.
“I was in a swimming pool on holiday and I went under the water and my dad pulled me out and managed to get me back to life again. And I haven’t gone near the water ever since.
“I can swim about one length and that’s it so I’ve had to overcome a lot of personal fears.
Bleakley – who has been through months of training with Professor Greg Whyte – said the effort of hauling herself out of the water after each fall was “exhausting”.

‘Girls Aloud’ risk going their separate ways due to minor feuds within the group.
WAG Cheryl Cole and band member Nadine are said to have been arguing in recent months.
Last month when Cheryl fled to LA it was reported that California-based Nadine ignored her former band mate and gave her no shoulder to cry on despite marriage breakdown her Mrs Cole is suffering.
A source says Nadine is ‘jealous’ of Cheryl’s solo career since her debut album 3Words stormed the British charts to the number one position.
Last May the band decided to take one year out and work on solo projects. Nadine has been in LA where she has opened a bar, while also working on lyrics for her debut album that is yet to be released.
But with only three months left until the Girls Aloud break is supposed to end, Nadine, 24, doesn’t have much time left to promote her music.
The feisty lady has seen how well Cheryl, 26, has done not only in the music industry but also with X Factor and advertising campaigns.
‘Nadine tries to keep very private and believes that her success will come through her talent and not any kind of media circus which might surround someone’s private life.’
According to the same source, the starlet also is said to believe that she has always had the best voice in the band and thinks her music alone will shine through as opposed to Cheryl who she feels was helped along by endless pursuits of the media.
Despite these rumours of the Cheryl and Nadine war, last month Nadine silenced the first claims the pair had fallen out by tweeting: ‘Def not the case. I’ve written a song I’d love for us to duet on. Stay tuned.’

After splitting from Ashley and generally have a rough past few weeks Cheryl Cole has stepped forwards once again to put an end to rumours circulating about her and ‘new dancer boyfriend’ Derek Hough before it all gets out of control.
Cheryl split from husband Ashley Cole last month following allegations that he had been unfaithful several times.
A source said: “Derek and Cheryl are great friends and he is always going to be there for her. But what she needs now is to get herself back on track and not be distracted by reports she’s seeing someone else.”
Cheryl and Derek sent rumours flying in Los Angeles last month when Hough allegedly spent several hours comforting Cheryl Cole in a hotel in the middle of the star’s marriage crisis.
According to the Daily Star, Cole has not invited Hough to join her when she performs her single ‘Parachute’ on BBC One’s Sport Relief 2010 show tomorrow – even though he appeared in the song’s video and choreographed its dance routine.
It is thought that the X Factor judge has decided to avoid further speculation by steering clear of Derek. She has instead decided to recruit a team of choreographers to attend the performance and revamp the original routine.

Who’s your style icon?
Recently I’ve really started liking High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgen’s style – it’s very fresh. You always see her looking immaculate at events in glamorous dresses and heels, but she also does the more casual look really well.
What can’t you live without?
In this freezing weather, my Uggs! They are really cosy. I love that something so comfortable is so fashionable.
What’s in your wardrobe?
I absolutely love dresses, so I have a lot of those in all different types, from short body-con dresses, floaty, summery ones and maxi-dresses. Some are designer and a lot are high street, which I love. And like many girls I have lots of shoes. Too many shoes, in fact , if that’s possible.
What’s in your make-up bag?
Everything. I have all a girl could need – for day, I love looking natural so I carry basic eyeliner and mascara, soft blushers and neutral lip glosses. But it’s fun to experiment with a more edgy look for evening, so I also have stronger colours and more dramatic eye make-up for when I go out. The one thing I simply can’t live without though is Yves St Laurent Touche Eclat.
What’s your secret style tip?
Play with colours and find one that suits. Sometimes what you least expect to look good on you can actually look amazing.

Christine Bleakley looked beautiful even at the tender age of 26 as she pouted her way through a WAG style photoshoot.
Five years ago, The One Show host posed for a series of shots any girl would be proud of. Caked in make-up and wearing a variety of clinging outfits, Bleakley managed to look stunning in her shoot at a Belfast hotel.
She may have an England footballer on her arm but the elegant Christine Bleakley is adamant she is ‘so not a WAG’.
At the time of the photoshoot, Bleakley was an up-and-coming TV presenter in her native Northern Ireland. The pictures were taken for a local magazine but however most of them have never been published.
‘She wasn’t the big star she is now,’ a friend said. ‘She was still trying to make a name for herself.
‘There’s no way she would wear that sort of gear for a photoshoot these days.’
The pictures emerged as the Daily Mail learned that Miss Bleakley, who is dating Chelsea and England star Frank Lampard, said to have studied politics at Queen’s University in Belfast, actually dropped out halfway through the three-year degree.
Although the information hasn’t done her any harm as yesterday she was at Downing Street meeting the Prime Minister at a charity function.

Melanie Slade arrives at footballer boyfriend, Theo Walcott’s 21st birthday party looking as glamorous as ever.
Last Saturday Walcott celebrated in style as he turned 21. The Arsenal winger, desperate that his girlfriend’s style wouldn’t put him to shame turned up in a shiny silver suit, with outrageously top-buttoned white shirt.
Melanie, who is 21 and currently studying physiotherapy at St George’s Hospital in London, wore a stunning black floor-length gown and black heels to the event at The Paramount members club.
It’s a huge milestone in any young person’s life, and for a footballer it’s an excuse to flash the cash and have a night out with his team-mates.
At the bash Theo was presented with a huge cake at the bash, featuring a miniature replica of himself perched atop a castle dressed as a knight with a fire breathing dragon in the castle’s moat.
The Arsenal star celebrated at the party by some of his team-mates, including Sol Campbell, who arrived with girlfriend Fiona Barratt, Andrei Arshavin and his wife Yulia and Eduardo, who was accompanied by his wife Andrea.
And Gareth Bale, who plays for arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur, was also a guest at the party.
Little Britain star Matt Lucas also made an appearance at the party – he is an avid Arsenal fan and has met the team and their manager Arsene Wenger on several occasions – helping them to launch their TV station in January 2008.

Cheryl reveals that she would love to work with Take That star Gary Barlow.
Despite all the recent stress that Cheryl Cole has been placed under she is looking forward and wanting to move on with her career.
Cheryl has announced that she would love to have a chance to work with Take That’s singer and songwriter Gary Barlow. “I would love to work with Gary. I think he’s a fantastic lyricist,” she said. She also praised his band saying, “You have to hand it to Take That. They’re amazing entertainers with fantastic songs and great characters.”
Also Mark Ronson has recently expressed his interest in teaming up with Girls Aloud’s member Cheryl. At the official launch of Trekstock charity in association with zavvi.com.
Mr Ronson admitted that had never listened to her music but based on what he had seen he would consider collaborating with the 26 year old Geordie.
“I know what she looks like, and I know everyone wants to work with her, So maybe if I heard her stuff first, yeah I’d work with her.”
He isn’t the first musician to have taken a fancy to the idea of collaborating with Mrs Cole. Both Jay-Z and Rihanna have also previously announced that they would love to work with Cheryl and help her launch her career in the U.S.

In case anyone had forgotten that WAG Carly Zucker and husband Joe Cole were due to welcome there baby girl Scarlet into the world any day now, well then here’s polite, yet blatant reminder.
Earlier this week the 25-year-old WAG stepped out in an attention seeking fluorescent pink top.
Carly was pictured leaving Stamford Bridge football ground last night after watching husband Joe Cole’s team Chelsea lose to Inter Milan in the Champions League. The baby bump crying out for attention as it bulged out from under a black cardigan.
The disappointment was etched on the former ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.’ star’s face after the 1-0 loss to the Italians.
The Italians, managed by former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, inflicted a rare home defeat over the Blues in Europe.
Husband, Joe, was also spotted in the back seat of the car looking understandably glum after he was brought on as a substitute but had minimal impact on the game.
Hopefully the arrival of baby Scarlett should give Cole the impetus he needs to work a bit harder in training.

VICTORIA Beckham has announced that her young son Romeo aged eleven wants to take over her fashion label.
Posh, the singer-turned-fashion designer insists that fashion and designing clothes is now her main career priority, revealing she would be happy for it to be carried on by another member of her family.
Victoria alongside footballing husband Beckham manages to juggle her fashion career and raise Brooklyn, eleven, Romeo, seven and Cruz, five.
“I think that my middle son thinks that he is going to take over,” she revealed.
“I mean you’ve got Brooklyn who is a real boy, he’s turning into a teenager. Then we have Romeo who loves fashion. He likes to go out in a suit with a bowler hat… he’s a real fashion lover. And Cruz just wants to break dance every opportunity he gets.”
Victoria also talks about her passion for fashion
“I love women and I just want to make women feel good and beautiful and it’s just been a huge compliment that ladies have enjoyed wearing my dresses and they look great!
“It just goes to show they can flatter women of all different shapes and sizes, all different heights, and that’s what it’s about. It’s about creating an illusion and having a great cut.”
“Seeing anyone wearing my clothes is exciting, whether it’s someone famous, a family member or a stranger,” she said. “A few weeks ago, I bumped into a woman wearing a design of mine and screamed with excitement. I’m sure she thought I was crazy.”

Victoria Beckham goes to Finland to offer comfort to her injured husband.
Mrs Beckham held on tight to the football star yesterday as he left hospital to begin recovery from his Achilles injury.
An onlooker said: “David looked really miserable and wasn’t interested in talking to anyone.
“Posh was holding onto him the whole time like a doting wife, looking most concerned for him.” England midfielder Beckham, 34, sat with his plastered foot up on a seat and crutches by his side.
The couple had spent the night together in Finland after Becks’ surgery on the snapped tendon, which has ruled him out of this year’s World Cup in South Africa.
Mum-of-three Posh had spent Tuesday night in the clinic with her husband after staff made special arrangements for her.
The pair enjoyed bargain £9 pizzas delivered from an Italian restaurant in Turku.
Owner Kim Rafkinin told of his shock at being asked to prepare a meal for the celebrity couple.
“I was very excited; it’s not every day you get asked to make pizza for the Beckhams.”
Surgeon Dr Sakari Orava gave the player a final check up before giving him the all clear to travel.
Posh and Becks were taken to Turku airport where they caught a flight to Britain. The couple were expected to spend last night in the UK before heading home to Los Angeles.
As they boarded their private jet, minders pulled up two fire engines alongside to stop photographers getting pictures.
Victoria has no doubts that Becks will bounce back as England boss Fabio Capello promised the stricken star he has not closed the door on his international career, despite the horrific injury in which his Achilles was badly damaged.
