An assortment of A-list celebrities have recently taken the plunge and swapped their long and luscious locks for something a little more statement in style.

Such a style works to create both a sexy and playful look.  The iconic razor-sharp look mainly consists of a variety of shattered lengths.  Such lengths work to create an edgy, no nonsense style.

There are no rules with this hairstyle and all lengths should be left a little uneven as appose to perfectly groomed.

This style doesn’t have to be combed to perfection, simply run through it with a pair of Babyliss straighteners.

Alternatively tip your locks upside down and roughly dry your hair with a Babyliss hair dryer.

Finish the look with a fine toothcomb and lashings of hairspray!  Backcombing is a great way to add a little extra volume to your locks, simple part you hair into sections and work your way through your locks.

The end result will offer an unmovable style an one that is perfect for both day and night.

Hold up on the back combing for a daytime style and pump if up a notch or two for an evening out on the tiles.

This is certainly a style that is coming back into fashion and one that is in fact very easily achievable.  The main effect is created using a razor.  A razor is able to achieve a lot more movement than a pair of scissors and works to lift the weight from the hair.

Today’s WAG’s are however of quite a different breed and come in the shape of the original Victoria Beckham, who now has her own clothing line, fragrance and children’s line.  She has certainly come a long way since the days of figure hugging white jeans, unimaginably high heels and low cut tees.  VB now portrays nothing but effortless style and is very good at doing so, we have even spotted her in a pair of flats before!

Abbey Clancy may now be Abbey Crouch; this doesn’t however see her relying on her husband’s status.  The leading lady is a top model as well as a TV presenter.

These are the WAGS to look up to, they are also the ones that many of us aspire to be, not because they are married to multimillionaire footballers but because they have their own minds, their own careers and their own independence.  They are also very stylish and tend to have both designers and stylists on speed dial, which makes them a great source of fashion inspiration to us!

If you like your hair loose, take a few style notes for the actress Cameron Diaz.  Her glam and surf style waves are the envy of many.  In order to create such a look, use a volumising moose and rough-dry the locks upside down.  Go over the style with medium-sized tongs in alternative directions.  Spritz hairspray onto the hands in order to create a tousled effect, this can be done by combing the style with the fingers.

Now that you have super Hollywood hair, you will need to finish the outfit with standout eyes and super-glam nails.

In order to achieve a similar style, use a black eyeliner along the top lash line.  You should take this slightly up and out at the ends for a more exaggerated style.

Apply a darker eyeshadow and blend it along the bottom lash line, continue this into the socket.

Finish with lashings of mascara to the top lashes; try L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara in order to create the effect of false lashes without the hassle of actually applying them.

If however you wish to achieve an even more statement look, run khol liner along the bottom inner rims and top of the eyes,, then smudge it with your fingers for a rock-chic look.

Celebrities are certainly one of the A-list breeds to watch, they do after all have many of the infamous and also the up and coming designers on speed dial.

WAG’s have certainly changed their appearances since the initial days.  We now look to them for ideas and inspiration as appose to looking to them to see what catastrophes they are donning this week!

Take Victoria Beckham for example, she is now classed as one of the best-dressed woman in the world; she even has her own line of Victoria Beckham attire to prove it.  Think the statement sculptured dresses and uber high heels.

Her daughter is now being watched as one of the best-dressed tots, she is usually seen wearing something equally as stylish as her designer clad mum!  It is of course always matching or in a shade that offers a colour opposite to what VB is wearing!

We imagine she is going to grow up to be as equally as stylish as her mum, especially when she has access to possibly one of the most enviable wardrobes of all time! She will also have a front row pass to many of the Fashion Week fashion shows as well, just so that she can get in a little inspiration early!

WAG’s are a cultural tribe in themselves and will always have a following of fashionistas!  This is mainly because of their over the top and statement dress sense as well as their attitude to the fashion world.

WAG was a term first used to describe the wives and girlfriends of the sportsmen in an innocent manner, this innocent manner didn’t however last too long!  The term WAG then became known as a label to describe someone that was shallow and consumerist as well as A-list obsessed!

Now however this term has been re-vamped once again.  WAG’s are no longer simply the A-list obsessed wives and girlfriends; they are woman in their own right!

They don’t rely on the wages of their husbands and boyfriends; they instead make their own names for themselves.  These names come in the shape of singer’s, models, clothes designers and perfume connoisseurs.

WAG’s are now a group of woman we look up to as appose to those that annoy and ridicule us.  We buy into their designs, cavort their styles and wear their fragrances.  WAG’s are the ones that have the latest designers and most sought after and renowned stylists on speed dial, with such an army behind them, how could they not look amazing 24/7!  This is one the main reasons we choose to try and recreate their style.  They are the ones wearing the latest designs fresh off the catwalks and they will therefore always remain stylish in our eyes!

The shades and stilettos may still be a WAG statement, however everything else seems to have toned itself down a little and become more subtle style than in your face and garish.

However times have changed and this season’s WAG’s are thought of as some of the world’s most best dressed!  This is hardly surprising when they have a team of stylists at their beck and call, hairdresser’s on speed dial, designer’s on first name terms and salons ready and willing to close for them at a drop of a hat.

Many of the new seasons’ WAG’s are in fact very much into fashion and not just the wearing of it!  Victoria Beckham has her own fashion line, Alex Crouch is currently presenting a top hair styling show, Coleen is the face of many fashion shows for the curvaceous girl and an assortment of other footballer’s wives are now making a name for themselves!  This is refreshing to see that they are going out on their own, other than just relying on the name of their boyfriends and husbands!

Being a WAG of course has its positive aspects, however it also brings with it a certain stereotype.  It is great to see that these stereotypes are being brushed aside!  Que the new season WAG persona!

You can always guarantee Victoria to be dressed to the nines in the latest clobber and the best bit, she even creates some of it!  This means it is now easier than ever to get a hold of the ultimate style WAG’s style!

Colleen Rooney offers a look more suited to the girly girl and is less high high fashion and more down to earth.  This makes her the perfect style icon for those that wish to wear something that is both a little more affordable and a lot more appropriate for every day situations.

Even though we would all love to look like VB, wearing those uber high heels on a daily basis would have most of us in major pain!
